EQUALITY PROGRAM | On November 19, the Equality Commission of the Faculty of HEC (UNIL) will present the Female Career Award to Cassie Mogilner Holmes, Professor of Marketing and Behavioral Decision Making, UCLA. Since 2018, this award has been presented each year in recognition of an outstanding female academic career. A specialist in the links between time use and well-being, Prof. Mogilner Holmes invites us to reflect on the impact of our temporal choices on our quality of life.
By exploring how temporal choices influence happiness and personal satisfaction, Cassie Mogilner Holmes, UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles, has advanced the science of well-being. Combining research and application, she has developed practical methods to help individuals and managers live better. Her book Happier Hour, a Wall Street Journal bestseller in 2022, has reached a wide audience, as has her popular MBA course Applying the Science of Happiness to Life Design.
Prof. Mogilner Holmes has been recommended by the Marketing Department at HEC Lausanne for her outstanding academic contribution. "Prof. Mogilner Holmes stands as an inspiring role model for the academic community, producing timely and relevant insights for our society in which alleviating time stress is a pressing priority," comments Isabelle Engeler, professor of marketing and co-chair of the Equality Commission at HEC Lausanne. "Her contributions go far beyond research and teaching excellence; she is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of academics and enriches the field with her infectiously positive perspective. We are honored to present her with this award in person on November 19," she concludes.
Her work has been published in leading journals in psychology and behavioral science, and her career has been marked by prestigious awards such as Marketing Science Institute Scholar (2023), Favorite MBA Professors from Poets & Quants (2020), and Journal of Consumer Research Best Article Award (2017).
