The IUCN Protected and Conserved Areas Team is seeking an intern to join the NARROW
project. This will be a two-month placement to take place any time from now until to end of
March 2025 (flexible time window according to the intern’s availability and preference).
The tasks will include:
• Contribute to the analysis of data emanating from the project led by the Senior
Research Officer
• Produce and disseminate solutions on the IUCN PANORAMA platform
• Support, as needed, the hosting of a webinar and development of an EU policy brief
or technical note on OECMs in Europe.
• Help the IUCN communications team, in the creation and dissemination of information
from the project, through their various communication tools, newsletters, website,
and a project Storymap.
• Availability to attend the IUCN OECMs EU Conference, to be held 12th and 13th
December, in Gland, Switzerland.
Requirements:
- Have secured the right to reside and work in Switzerland where the internship is based,
for the full duration of the internship. IUCN will not assist in applying for visas or
work permits or altering the visa status of applications.
- Interns must:
o Be in a “gap year” status with the clear intent to pursue further study at
the end of the “gap” period, OR
o Be enrolled in a university, or equivalent tertiary institution:
o Be enrolled in an academic programme that is relevant and related to the
duties and accountabilities
o Be fluent in one of the three IUCN languages (English, Spanish and
French)
