Launch of the ECCE Weather Club

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the ECCE (Expertise Center for Climate Extremes) Weather Club, starting from Tuesday the 6th of February!

Are you fascinated by the ever-changing dynamics of weather, passionate about weather forecasting, or perhaps curious about the science behind atmospheric phenomena? Look no further!

The Expertise Center for Climate Extremes (ECCE) is thrilled to announce the start of its Weather Club (the ECCE Weather Club) in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss. The Weather Club will be held online every first Tuesday of the month from 13:00 to 14:00. The speakers will present characterizations of specific significant recent meteorological events (case studies) or explain some key tools used to establish a weather forecast (e.g., map of 500 hPa geopotential height, vertical profiles, etc.). The talks will be followed by a lively discussion.

For security reasons, the ZOOM link and login details are sent on the day of the event on the ECCE events-related mailing-list. You can subscribe to that mailing-list at this link.

Why Join the ECCE Weather Club?

  • Dive deep into weather-related topics through interactive and informative discussions.
  • Gain insights from experts in the field and expand your understanding of meteorology.
  • Build valuable connections with experts and fellow students, creating opportunities for collaboration and mentorship.
