Conclusion: In mice, the adrenal glands can be induced to host HSPCs in niches containing CXCL12+ reticular cells. These cells are also found in human adrenal myelolipoma, a benign tumor composed of adipose and hematopoietic tissue.
Legend: Induced adrenal stromal niche (PDGFRA+ cells in red) capturing a single hematopoietic progenitor (cKit+ in yellow) surrounded by hematopoietic cells (DAPI+ nuclei in the cobblestone-like cluster) embedded within the adrenal parenchyma.
