We are delighted to announce that Lorène Rousseau, a dedicated and aspiring young researcher, has been awarded the FBM MD-PhD scholarship to further her academic and medical career. This fellowship is a significant step forward in her journey towards becoming a clinician and contributing to the field of cancer research.
Lorène aspires to be a pediatric oncologist and began her journey as a researcher under the mentorship of Pr Ping-Chih Ho, during her master’s thesis. Together with Pr Ho, they elaborated a research project directly related to her medical training and she is embarking on a MD-Ph.D program, focusing on a research project titled "Harnessing Epigenetic Rewiring for Enhanced T cell Anti-tumor Immunity." This innovative research seeks to overcome epigenetic barriers in cancer treatment.
Her remarkable dedication led to selection by the MD-PhD Commission at the University of Lausanne, where she presented her research in front of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences in Bern. This outstanding presentation secured her the FBM local scholarship, spanning three years.
«My ultimate goal is to contribute to the advancement of cancer research, especially in pediatric fields», says Lorène.
The FBM local scholarship is a prestigious program supporting medical students like Lorène in her journey to bridge research and clinical practice. Her enthusiasm and dedication is an inspiration to aspiring young researchers.
