HEC Lausanne takes another step forward in its commitment to social responsibility, ethics and sustainable development with its affiliation to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative. Interview with Patrick Haack, Professor in the Department of Strategy and Director of the HEC Research Center for Grand Challenges, to find out more about this new affiliation.
Can you tell us more about the PRME initiative and what it involves?
Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, which aims to promote training, research and practices within business and economics schools that focus on social and environmental responsibility, in order to develop leaders who are aware of global issues and capable of actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Signatories commit to adopting and promoting the six PRME principles. These principles involve integrating the values of social responsibility, ethics and sustainability into the school's teaching programs, research, institutional activities and partnerships.
Why is this affiliation important for HEC Lausanne?
The PRME initiative resonates perfectly with the fundamental values espoused by HEC Lausanne and is in line with the deanship's commitment to promoting diversity and sustainability.
We attach particular importance to the quality of our training and research, and this is attested to by the place occupied by the faculty and its programs in international rankings, as well as the accreditations we have been awarded by the prestigious EQUIS and AMBA bodies. Affiliation with PRME is part of our quality development strategy to make HEC Lausanne a leader among economics and management institutions.
