Publishing the first report on the Annual Thesis Survey, based on the results of the questionnaire sent to all UNIL doctoral candidates and their supervisors in 2022.
Since 2018, the Graduate Campus has been inviting all UNIL doctoral candidates and their supervisors to fill in an online thesis survey questionnaire every year.
For the first time, a report has been drafted and which presents the 2022 survey data as well as some data on its evolution since 2018.
This document also aims to clarify the aims, the handling process of responses, and the interest of this annual survey tool.
Overall, the results of the 2022 survey show that the majority of doctorates are going well or are manageable without the need for external support, and this in all faculties of UNIL.
However, whether as a result of this survey or through occasional contact, the number of individual meetings offered by the Graduate Campus has been constantly increasing. This increase is interpreted as the development of confidence in this annual survey tool and in the help that a meeting with the Graduate Campus or with the persons in charge of the doctorate in the faculties can bring.
We can thus conclude that the main goals of the annual thesis survey, namely to listen, to reinforce good practices and to accompany, are achieved.
The next annual thesis survey will open on 17 April 2023, we are counting on the participation of all!
