Le mardi 4 avril aura lieu une conférence en mode hybride par Alexander Nebrig.
Tuesday 4 of April at 1:30pm a conference will be held by Alexander Nebrig live or via zoom.
Abstract
Literary translation traffic is regulated by copyright law – with consequences for contemporary literature: books can usually be translated only once or translations are exclusive; translation licenses must be acquired from exploiters such as publishers; abridgements, changes, or conspicuous formal deviations must be authorized by the author; a national market for translations of unprotected works competes with an international licensing market for protected works. In the first part, the lecture wants to introduce the interlingual license space historically and systematically. In the second part, using the example of German literature, the lecture wants to ask how the interlingual license space has changed the writing and acting of writers.
