The biennial conference of the Swiss Geomorphological Society will be held this year from 6 to 8 September in the Val de Bagnes (VS), a region renowned for glaciology and geomorphology. The theme of the conference is: Moving Mountains: Mountains in Transition.
The conference welcomes contributions from research, applied research or practice related to current geomorphological issues. It is open to all oral or poster presentations on geomorphological topics by researchers from Switzerland or neighbouring countries. Impacts of climate change on slope stability, landscape evolution, and geoheritage management are just a few examples of the topics that can be addressed. Presentations by young researchers (PhD students, Masters students) are particularly encouraged. Presentations can be given in the national languages, but English is preferred.
The symposium on Thursday will be preceded by a conference for the general public on Wednesday evening, followed by an excursion to the Mont Fort region on Friday.
