Professor Ping-Chih Ho of the Department of oncology UNIL CHUV, and Full Member of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, receives a prestigious SNSF Consolidator Grant.
The SNSF Consolidator Grant will support the Ho Lab's project: Targeting mitochondria-mediated regulation for improving T cell anti-tumor immunity.
Its key objectives will be to delineate mechanisms by which mitochondria drive T cell differentiation and to develop therapeutic modalities targeting those process. This research will offer a new understanding of immunometabolism and new immunotherapies.
The SNSF award, of just over CHF 2,5 million, will support the project for five years.
The SNSF launched the 'SNSF Consolidator Grants' funding scheme on behalf of the Swiss government, following Switzerland's current non-association status to Horizon Europe. It is aimed at researchers (based in Switzerland or abroad) who planned to apply for an ERC Consolidator Grant.
