Venice International University launches a call for applications for lectureships in the summer session 2023
Venice International University, of which UNIL is a member, invites applications from tenured professors who are willing to teach one or more courses for credit within the framework of the 4-week Summer Session at VIU from July 31 to August 25, 2023. UNIL applicants must be Professor or Senior Lecturer (MER1).
Courses in any discipline can be proposed. They must be suitable and open to bachelor and master’s students and must take into consideration that VIU students come from different cultural backgrounds (with about 20 nationalities represented in a semester) and from different academic traditions. Professors may consider team teaching solutions, either with colleagues from their own university, or from other VIU member universities.
Each course must consist of 36 hours of in-class tuition + 4 hours of extra activities. The 36 hours of in-class teaching will take place during the 4-week program at the VIU campus - indicatively 9 hours teaching per week. A preliminary virtual component should be envisaged and should include at least one online meeting and asynchronous tasks for the students to be completed prior to the in-class program (readings, research, group work).
Professors teaching a 40-hour course in the Summer Session will be paid € 3,000 gross. The necessary tax deductions will be applied at source.
The application deadline is 8 February 2022. Applications must be submitted to Prof. Anne-Christine Fornage at UNIL.
More information is available on the VIU website and in the call for applications. For any question please kindly contact VIU.
