The Board of Directors of the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) has decided to renew our EQUIS accreditation for a period of 5 years, thus recognizing our leading position among business and management institutions worldwide. A great reward and a major achievement for our Faculty.
The Faculty of HEC at the University of Lausanne has been awarded EQUIS accreditation for a period of 5 years. This is the highest distinction of EQUIS, which is one of the most prestigious international accreditation bodies in the field of management education. Interview with Dean Marianne Schmid-Mast, who was the driving force behind this success:
What is the EQUIS accreditation?
It is the main quality assessment system for business and management schools, which sets standards for developing and improving the overall quality of these educational institutions. It evaluates the management of schools on various levels (internationalization of curricula, proximity to companies, etc.) while attaching particular importance to the development of managerial and entrepreneurial skills in students. The awarding of an accreditation is thus linked to both the excellence and the constant improvement of the quality of a school, in line with its strategy, vision and leadership role.
Why is this important?
For HEC Lausanne graduates and future graduates, EQUIS accreditation is a valuable asset, since it proves the high quality of their education and confers international recognition on the institution from which they have earned it. It also helps the Faculty to develop partnerships with renowned universities: students thus benefit from even more opportunities for international exchanges. They could not be happier!
