Now a post-doc in the Joyce Lab, Marta Jordāo is one of two outstanding young investigators in her field selected for this distinction by the European Federation of Immunological Societies.
Marta Jordāo receives the 2022 Acteria Doctoral Prize for her PhD thesis on the ontogeny, fate and function of central nervous system myeloid cells during homeostasis and neuroinflammation.
Her post-doc, under Pr Johanna Joyce, is focused on deciphering the role of tumor-associated macrophages and CNS lymphatics in the formation and progression of glioblastoma and brain metastasis.
Marta obtained her PhD in the lab of Pr Marco Prinz at the University Medical Center of Freiburg (Germany). The fellow recipient of this 2022 distinction is Coraline Radermacker of the laboratory of Immunophysiology of Pr Thomas Marichal FNRS/GIGA Institute, Liège University (Belgium).
