On August 1, 2022, Estefania Amer joined the Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Lausanne. Her area of expertise is how organizations integrate sustainability into their strategies and operations.
Estefania Amer’s teaching and research are oriented towards how our societies, through their individuals, teams, and organizations, can address the ecological crisis and its environmental, social, and economic consequences. Estefania’s expertise in sustainability is rooted in an interdisciplinary background, with a first PhD in Environmental Science, a Bachelor in Sociology, a Master in Socio-economics, and a second PhD in Economics, as well as a long academic and non-academic experience in Management, Economics, and Environmental Science.
More specifically, Estefania's research has focused on how companies and other organizations integrate sustainability into the design and implementation of their strategies. She is also passionate about teaching and is currently finishing a master's degree in Education. This master has provided her with expertise on the integration of sustainability in higher and executive education, as well as valuable insights for her new research project on the key competencies for sustainability. This project aims at adequately identifying and characterizing these competencies, with the ultimate goal of generating valuable insights for pedagogical innovation.
