At UNIL, the start of the 2022 spring semester will take place in person, with the same rules as those that governed the 2021 fall semester. This is subject to new decisions by the federal and cantonal authorities, which may be taken shortly before the start of the academic year. Access to the classrooms will therefore be authorised to students with a COVID certificate or a weekly cantonal attestation, and those who do not have a COVID certificate will be able to continue to follow the lessons online. On the menu of this newsletter: timetables of the test centres on campus, health measures to be respected, digital tools at your disposal, and an event not to be missed: the Masters Day.
In-person courses, with an online alternative
From the beginning of the February 21st intake, all teachers will be teaching in in-person mode, except in special cases. The UNIL Rectorate has decided to extend, for the spring 2022 semester, the measures intended to allow students who do not have a COVID certificate to follow their courses online. For each course, a broadcast and/or recording is offered to allow synchronous and/or asynchronous distance learning.
Free pool tests on campus: locations and times
In order to access courses, UNIL offers students who have not been vaccinated the possibility of a free weekly saliva test (more info on this page), on the basis of which a cantonal certificate is issued to them, in accordance with the Vaud State Council's decree of 15 September. This document is not the equivalent of a COVID certificate. It is a certificate that gives access to all UNIL classrooms on the Dorigny, Bugnon and Epalinges sites. It also gives access to all the other Vaud higher education institutions as well as to the university libraries, including the medical library.
At the beginning of the spring semester, the test centres giving access to this certificate are available at the following locations and times:
Mandatory wearing of masks in the buildings
For the time being, the provisions concerning teaching remain the same as in the autumn semester. They are detailed in the Protection and Organisation Plan for teaching at Bachelor, Master and Doctorate levels, which remains in force for the new school year. In the event of new decisions by our authorities, it will be updated.
