Department member Moritz Gruban received the young scholar award ("zfo-Nachwuchspreis") for the article "Legitimating Torture through Professional Authority: The CIA's 'Enhanced Interrogation Techniques,'" which he presented at the 45th VHB WK Organization Annual Conference. The conference was organized by the Leuphana Universität Lüneburg (Germany).
The award is sponsored by the German management journal "Zeitschrift Führung + Organisation" (zfo). In addition to a cash price, Moritz was invited to publish a short summary of the research in the zfo journal.
The selection committee highlighted the depth and societal relevance of the research. The project is part of Moritz's dissertation and co-authored by department member Patrick Haack and Roy Suddaby (University of Victoria).
"I am very happy to win this award and I think it is a great recognition for the work that my co-authors and I invested into this project," said Moritz.
