According to the recent decisions of the Rectorate, the measures intended to help students without a COVID certificate to follow online courses synchronously and/or asynchronously will remain in force until the end of the fall semester. The validity of these measures remains subject to possible modifications that would be enacted by the political authorities before their expiration, depending on the evolution of the pandemic situation. In this newsletter, you will find the updated protection plan for in person teaching, as well as advice from the Teaching Support Centre, which is at your disposal.
Extension of the measures allowing distance learning for students who do not have a COVID certificate
The UNIL Rectorate has decided to extend until the end of the fall semester the measures intended to allow students who do not have a COVID certificate to follow the courses online.
It is therefore expected that a broadcast and/or recording of the courses will be maintained throughout the semester in order to allow for synchronous and/or asynchronous distance learning.
As a reminder, recording and broadcasting can continue to be done either via one of the 47 rooms equipped with the REC-UNIL system, or in the other classrooms via the ZOOM application available to UNIL teachers. You will find all the information, guides and resources you need for your preparation on the page " Recording of courses".
Please note that live broadcasts using the REC-UNIL system require a recording, but that the recording is not published, it is simply sent to the teacher's channel who can then either store it as a potential fallback or simply delete it.

Consider deleting your videos that are no longer needed
Since March 2020 and the start of the COVID measures related to teaching, we have accumulated over 30 000 videos on our media servers, which equals to over 62 TB of data currently stored.
We are in the process of implementing a life cycle management protocol for these new resources which will be presented to you shortly, but in the meantime, please feel free to delete videos that are no longer useful for your teaching and recordings of the last fall and spring semesters.
To delete a video, simply click on DELETE on the menu that appears on the video thumbnail once your mouse pointer hovers over it.
Some stats from our REC-UNIL media server
Since the beginning of the fall semester, our media-server has recorded more than 200 000 visits and more than 5000 videos have been added since September 21.
600 broadcasts and/or recordings are scheduled from the 47 equipped rooms and more than 3500 ZOOM sessions take place every week.
We are also seeing a large number of course recordings (over 100 000 views to date).
