As we approach the start of the academic year on 21 September, here is some practical information on the health measures on campus, as well as on the teaching modalities planned for academic intake and the technical support that the Teaching Support Centre provides you with. You will also find information on the organisation of events, libraries, campus restaurants and university sports.
Sanitary measures on the campus
More information on the Update page
Teaching at the start of the academic year in September
Teaching will resume on Tuesday 21 September 2021. The new measures enacted by the Federal Council, in view of the current situation, allow a return to in person teaching, without any restriction on the number of students or the occupation of classrooms, but with compulsory wearing of masks. The recording, broadcasting and taping of lectures will be communicated by the faculties.
Infrastructure for the recording of courses
The campus currently has 26 rooms equipped for "A" type recordings, 18 rooms equipped for "B" type recordings and 5 ZOOM rooms.
A mobile device (Meetup type cameras) coupled with Zoom makes it possible to equip 35 additional rooms on request, either permanently or temporarily. We invite faculties and schools to report their needs for this type of equipment to captation@unil.ch.
The equipment of additional rooms is underway and will enable us to equip 8 additional "A" rooms and 9 "ZOOM" rooms. The list of equipped rooms is available under this link and is updated as and when the equipment ordered is received and installed.
A new method for encoding requests for type A or B recordings
The IT Centre and the CSE (Teaching Support Centre) have developed an application which now allows teachers or those who have been delegated to use My UNIL to enter their recording requests directly. This method will be effective from Thursday 9 September. The documentation and tutorial for this manoeuvre will be available on this page from 8 September. We would also like to point out that a verification will be systematically carried out by the capture support team for the first two weeks of the course. Do not hesitate to contact them for any request (captation@unil.ch).
CSE training courses
The CSE (Teaching Support Centre) offers a training programme adapted to the current situation. You can consult it here: https://conference.unil.ch/cours/cse
It is also possible for the CSE to organise training courses from this list on request for specific groups, faculties or schools. Contact cse-formation@unil.ch for more information.
Moodle update
The Moodle upgrade to version 3.11 is scheduled for Friday 10 September 2021 from 7:00 to 15:00. The system will not be available during this period.
Organisation of professional, research or association events
Event organisers are asked to refer to the document "Protocol and Priorities for events in the academic year 2021".
