The Faculty of Biology and Medicine Award for Excellence 2020 goes to a recent PhD student of the Ho Lab
Hai Ping Wang's PhD research, undertaken as a member of the Ho Lab of the Ludwig Lausanne Branch, revealed the distinct metabolic adaptation of intratumoral Tregs, and how anti-tumor immune response could be enhanced by specifically targeting tumor infiltrating Tregs via anti-CD36 blockade. This study* was supported by funding from the Lausanne Integrative Metabolism and Nutrition Alliance (LIMNA).
Haiping Wang is now a postdoctoral fellow within the Trajkovski Lab at the University of Geneva's Department of cell physiology and metabolism.
