The DFG Walter Benjamin fellowship award will support research into mechanisms contributing to the NASH-to Hepatocellular carcinoma switch.
Johannes Schwenck is the latest new member of the Ho Lab, which he joins as a fellow of the DFG's Walter Benjamin progamme. Johannes comes to the Department of oncology's research community from the University of Tübingen (Germany) where he focussed on preclinical and translational imaging research in inflammation and cancer, and clinical health care. "I look foward to gaining a deeper insight into the underlying principles of immunology and the immunometabolic regulation of cancer." noted Johannes on his first days in Lausanne.
The DFG award supports Johannes Schwenk's study on : Characterization of the metabolic adaptions in the immune infiltrate during the transition from non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) to hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC).
