Professor Alain Schatt, from the Department of Accounting and Control at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne, has just been appointed to the Scientific Committee of the prestigious association EARNet.
Formed in 2000, the European Auditing Research Network (EARNet) is an international academic association that works to promote research in auditing but also to inform regulators with responsibility for auditing issues. The association organises an international conference in a European country every two years. The Scientific Committee is made up of around 20 European and American experts (including the editor-in-chief of the main academic journal of the American Accounting Association – The Accounting Review).
For Prof. Schatt, being appointed as the first and only Swiss member of the Scientific Committee, alongside leading researchers in the sector, is an acknowledgement of his research activities in the auditing field. “Having published research on joint auditing and the adoption of new audit reports, this appointment has encouraged me to develop new research projects on the subject of the economic consequences of new regulations in the audit market,” comments Prof. Schatt.
The whole school congratulates Prof. Schatt on his appointment!
