The Canton of Vaud has set up a temporary emergency aid scheme for students with financial problems due to the current health and economic situation. This newsletter explains in detail the conditions for benefiting from it.
An emergency aid fund of the Canton of Vaud linked to COVID-19
As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken by the authorities to contain its outbreak, you may be one of the many students who have lost their support jobs or employment opportunities that allowed or would have allowed you to cover your living expenses. Alternatively, you may no longer be able to be supported by your parents or relatives, who are also affected by the economic consequences of the ongoing epidemic.
Faced with this situation, you can benefit from the temporary emergency aid scheme for students at risk from the COVID-19 pandemic, set up by the Canton of Vaud for the academic year 2020-2021.
Who can benefit from this financial aid?
The financial aid is reserved for students who are regularly registered at UNIL (Bachelor or Master) and who are in a precarious situation due to the current economic situation. It does not apply to students who are on full leave or have just left the university, or to students on continuing education or exchange programmes.
What financial support can be granted?
If you meet the criteria set out above, you may be eligible for the following types of support, which are non-refundable:
