This newsletter focuses on practical information and provides you with guides and recommendations to help you prepare your online assessments of the winter exam session, and then informs you where to turn for help if you encounter an IT problem during the holiday season. Finally, you'll find a reminder about security on Zoom.
The infrastructure is in place for your online exams
The entire MoodleExam and Zoom infrastructure is available for the preparation of your online assessments. We invite you to consult the guides and recommendations at your disposal, which you can choose to apply in relation to the instructions and guidelines of your faculty or school.
Helpdesk during the end of year period
The Teaching Support Centre (Centre de soutien à l’enseignement - CSE) will provide a helpdesk service with one hour of message consultation per day in relation to recording (captation@unil.ch) and e-learning (elearning@unil.ch) between Monday 21st December 2020 and Monday 4th January 2021.
The usual opening hours will resume on Monday 4th January 2021 for e-learning and on Monday 15th February 2021 for course recording.
Securing your Zoom room
Every week, the CSE receives alerts from Zoom concerning the publication on social networks of links to Zoom UNIL rooms (and their access password sometimes) that are linked to the organisation of events by our different services and entities.
We would like to draw your attention to the importance of securing access to your rooms by choosing, for example, the option of activating a waiting room or opting for the creation of a room number specific to your event, rather than sharing the generic number of your room.
You can find all these tips in the Zoom guide.
Or by consulting our video tutorials.
