The Cyber Woman Award 2020 was awarded by the Cercle des Femmes de la Cybersécurité to Professor Solange Ghernaouti from HEC Lausanne, UNIL, at the Cyber Women Day ceremony in Paris on 27 October.
The Cyber Woman Award was created at the International Cybersecurity Forum, which takes place alongside European Cybersecurity Month. As well as highlighting the exceptional careers of committed professional women in the cyber field, the event aims to promote the importance of women in cybersecurity.
Solange Ghernaouti, Professor in Information Systems at HEC Lausanne and director of the Swiss Cybersecurity Advisory Group, received the award in the Directors and Entrepreneurs category in recognition of her expertise and commitment to leading circles at the national, European and international levels. The award recognises her pioneering and leadership role in terms of a cross-disciplinary approach to cybersecurity. "Cybersecurity is not an end in itself, but life is now impossible without it,” she commented at the ceremony on Cyber Women Day.
The award comes in addition to the ten or so other distinctions that have already punctuated her career as an internationally renowned academic. The whole school congratulates Prof. Ghernaouti on this new award.
