Prof. John Antonakis, from the Department of Organizational Behaviour at HEC Lausanne (UNIL), has received this summer the Scholarly Impact Award 2020 from the Journal of Management for his article on the power of leaders.
The Journal of Management is one of the leading journals in the management field. According to the Financial Times ranking, for example, its impact factor places it 4th out of 226 journals in the management category. The Journal of Management Scholarly Impact Award 2020 is given to an author whose article published in the past five years has had the greatest impact on the field today.
The journal seeks out revolutionary work that can change the way other academics think about certain topics; accordingly, it decided to give the award to Prof. John Antonakis for his article on the power of leaders, not only for the definition he gives and how power translates into practice, but also how it should be studied from an academic perspective.
“I am delighted and very proud to receive this award, which attests to the quality and leading nature of research in the Department of Organizational Behaviour, HEC Lausanne and the University of Lausanne overall. My interactions with my direct colleagues have prompted me to reflect in different ways on what we wrote in the article, as have my discussions with my PhD students, which are always fascinating,” comments Prof. Antonakis.
HEC Lausanne congratulates Prof. Antonakis on the award!
