A series of free virtual workshops each focused on a UN Sustainable Development Goal will take place on 28 October.
The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) – of which UNIL is a member – in collaboration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network and UNESCO, will hold a series of free virtual workshops, each thematically focused on a UN Sustainable Development Goal. The workshops will bring together early career researchers (ECRs) from all around the world (PhD students in their final year and post-docs), who are interested in establishing connections to colleagues in their field.
Programme
The launch event will feature guest speaker Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the UN SDSN, Chair of the Lancet COVID-19 Commission, economics professor and global leader in sustainable development.
The following workshops will each be introduced by an internationally distinguished speaker who will provide an overview of the major research opportunities and challenges in the broad topic domain. Following the introductory speaker, participants will break up into virtual videoconference meeting rooms, which will be self-defined according to their particular area of research interest, so that they can develop their international networks and collaborations.
