Founder and director of the Futures Lab at HEC Lausanne (UNIL), having previously worked to develop continuing education in the school for over 10 years, Isabelle Chappuis has been nominated as one of the leading figures who will make up the Forum des 100 on 25 September, and will take part in the round table discussion at the event.
Nomination to the Forum des 100
Isabelle Chappuis is a well-known figure with numerous organisations in French-speaking Switzerland, whose expertise and passion about issues associated with the future of employment have earned her a nomination to the 2020 Forum des 100 event. The Forum des 100 is a discussion and networking platform that brings people from a wide range of backgrounds together every year to discuss a particular topic. The theme for September’s event is “Post-COVID: can technology save us?”.
Isabelle Chappuis has worked in the field of professional skills throughout her career. She began her time at HEC Lausanne by directing the continuing education service EMBA and went on to establish and develop the Executive Education continuing education department.
Driven by a commitment to combating human obsolescence in a fast-moving society, Isabelle Chappuis then saw the necessity of identifying new needs – now and in the future – in terms of professional skills. It was from this cutting-edge perspective that last year she brought the project to create a future jobs and skills study and analysis centre to fruition: the Futures Lab at HEC Lausanne aims to identify how occupations are evolving and the portfolio of skills that need to be developed.
Given the changes triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the nomination is a recognition for Isabelle Chappuis of the need to anticipate new needs in terms of professional skills. “This nomination is a pleasing recognition of my ideas and commitment. This crisis has shown us how the world can be thrown off balance and has also shed light on future changes. Now it’s down to us to prepare for them!”
All members of HEC Lausanne congratulate Isabelle Chappuis on her nomination!
