Emanuel de Bellis joined the Department of Marketing at HEC Lausanne (UNIL) on August 1, 2020, as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor.
Prof. de Bellis joined HEC Lausanne from the University of St. Gallen. In his current research, he focuses on consumers’ perception and use of autonomous products and other digital technologies. His research appeared in top-tier business journals such as the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
Besides his focus on topics related to marketing and consumer behavior, Prof. de Bellis is an expert in empirical research methods and co-author of the upcoming book “The Machine Age of Customer Insight” focusing on machine learning applications. At HEC Lausanne, he will teach the Master course “Marketing Science” and the PhD course “Experiments: Lab, Field, Quasi, and Natural”.
In 2019, Prof. de Bellis was a Visiting Associate Research Scholar at Columbia University in the US. Before that, he spent research visits at the University of British Columbia in Canada and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Germany. He received his PhD in Management from the University of St. Gallen.
