Pelet lab - A crucial function of all cellular life is the ability to sense its surroundings and adapt to its variations.
Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases integrate extracellular information in all eukaryotic cells. Using a live mRNA reporter, the Pelet lab has monitored transcriptional bursting in Saccharomyces cerevisiae upon activation of a MAPK pathway by hyper-osmotic shock. The influence of signaling activity, chromatin and transcription factors on the dynamics of transcription have been characterized.
