Thanks to a new Read&Publish contract with the Elsevier, UNIL/CHUV corresponding authors can publish their articles in Open Access free of charge. A similar contract is currently being negotiated with Springer Nature.
Elsevier
UNIL/CHUV corresponding authors can publish free of charge in Gold and Hybrid Elsevier journals (full list here). Cell Press journals, «The Lancet» and selected society journals are not included in the agreement. Therefore, please consult the Excel list before choosing a journal to publish in Open Access. This deal is valid for articles submitted after January 1, 2020.
After your article is accepted, corresponding authors will receive an e-mail with a link to the Elsevier Rights and Access Portal. Please enter University of Lausanne as the "Corresponding Author's Organization" and then select the "Gold Open Access" option. It is not the default option, so make sure you choose Open Access.
This is the first transformative Read & Publish Big Deal agreement negotiated nationally by swissuniversities.
Springer Nature
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the publisher. Springer Nature maintains read access for their titles for UNIL/CHUV researchers until the conclusion of the new contract.
With the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties confirm their intention to conclude an agreement according to the Read & Publish model by summer along the same lines as with Elsevier, except that, for the time being, only Hybrid journals are included in the agreement.
You can check at any time all the Open Access agreements currently in force between UNIL and publishers in our dedicated web page.
