Studying at a distance: two new tutorials
In this tutorial (in French) produced jointly by the Centre de soutien à l'enseignement (CSE) and the Service d'orientation et carrières (SOC), discover tips and tricks for creating a work-friendly environment at home, whether by organizing your computer, the physical space devoted to studies or your schedules.
With this other tutorial, learn how to master your concentration, which can be challenged by multiple distractions at home. The video also provides exercises to do to boost your attention span.

Kevin, Nina and Valentine share their experiences of their studies in this unprecedented period in videos produced by the Centre de soutien à l'enseignement – Teaching Support Centre (CSE) and by the Service d'orientation et carrières (SOC). They talk about how they feel in this particular context, how they view the challenges posed by distance learning, and even give some advice to other students in front of the webcam.

In case of concern, the FAE has also released a special emergency fund for a cash down payment of 200 francs to your private bank account. Please fill out this form. Don't forget to attach proof of the impact of the pandemic on your working hours. It is possible to request the breakdown service a second time.

Scientific images: the National Fund honours two UNIL researchers
The Swiss National Science Foundation organises an annual scientific photography competition. The aim is to make research more visible to the media and the public. Two of the winners of the 2020 edition are doctoral students at UNIL: Kaan Mika (Faculty of Biology and Medicine, read the article) and Jérôme Gapany (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, read the article).
