Participate in the World’s Challenge Challenge competition!
Global issues such as poverty, food security, public health, inequality and environmental degradation are the product of global relations in which we as global citizens bear responsibility. The World’s Challenge Challenge encourages young minds from different disciplines to come together to address a global issue, offering solutions to implement in partnership with local communities. UNIL will select a group of 2 to 4 students to represent the university based on an internal competition.
Conditions to participate
Western University encourages student teams to consider the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals as part of their presentation.
Deadlines
Thursday 20 February (17:15-18:00) : Information session at Synathlon Building, room 2420 (please inform us of your participation by email)
Sunday 8 March : Deadline to submit a written document of max. 10 pages (Arial 12) containing the following elements (in French or in English):
Thursday 9 April 2020 : Presentation of your project at UNIL in front of a public and a jury that will select the best solution (7 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions).
What can you win ?
UNIL will offer the plane tickets to the winner team (2-4 members) to go to Canada and present their solution at Western University in the international World’s Challenge Challenge (2-7 June 2019). Accommodation and food will be paid for throughout the trip by Western University.
The winners of the international World’s Challenge Challenge will win :
1st place : 30,000 CAD (approximately 22,500 CHF)
2nd place : 15,000 CAD (approximately 11,200 CHF)
3rd place : 7,500 CAD (approximately 5,600 CHF)
