Daniel Oyon, a Full Professor in the Department of Accounting and Control at HEC Lausanne, UNIL, has been appointed by the Federal Council to the board of the Federal Audit Oversight Authority (FAOA) for a further four years. Professor Oyon represents academic circles on the board.
The FAOA is a public institution of the Swiss Confederation and is based in Bern. It is responsible for deciding on applications for the licensing of individuals and firms that provide statutory auditing services. It also oversees firms that audit companies of public interest. It works with specialist associations that set the standards for auditing and thus guarantees the quality of auditing services.
Prof. Oyon has represented academic circles on the five-member board since 2011. His appointment is for a further four years, from 2020 to 2023. Prof. Oyon has been appointed for both his independence and expertise in the field of governance and management control and is delighted that his term of office has been renewed.
