The European Molecular Biology Association (EMBO)'s Young Investigator Programme has selected Ping-Chih Ho of the Department of oncology and Ludwig Adjunct Scientist as one of this year's 27 nominated life scientists.
At the head of the Immunometabolic regulation laboratory of the Department of oncology UNIL CHUV, Pr Ho's specific research work on immunometabolic editing in facilitating immune evasion in melanomas will now benefit from four years' funding from the EMBO Young Investigator programme (2020-2024).
The EMBO Young Investigators programme received 229 eligible applications this year from qualifying researchers. Applicants must be under the age of 40, be within their first four years as group leaders and have a proven record of scientific excellence. As part of the programme, EMBO offers the selected young scientists access to a wide range of benefits to support them at the early stage of their careers.
