Pr. Gaia Melloni joined the Department of Accounting and Control at HEC Lausanne (UNIL) on September 1, 2019, as an Assistant Professor. An expert and researcher in accounting and corporate sustainability, Prof. Melloni will notably teach these subjects in the "Research in Sustainablility Accounting" course of the Master's program in Accounting, Control and Finance.
Pr. Gaia Melloni is an interdisciplinary researcher in accounting and corporate sustainability with an expertise on integrated reporting, sustainability reporting and textual analysis.
Pr. Melloni has previously worked as Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in accounting at University of East Anglia (UK) and postdoctoral fellow in accounting at Bocconi University (Italy). She has held visiting positions at Oxford University (UK), Erasmus Rotterdam University (the Netherlands) and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University (Australia). She received her Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management from the Graduate School of Economics and Management (University of Padua, Venice and Verona, Italy).
She has published in international journals including Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Business Strategy and the Environment. She has been co-investigator in the Tilos Horizon 2020 research grant (2017-2019) and won the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Seedcorn research grant.
She is member of the Scientific Committee of the European Accounting Association (EAA) Conference and has served as member of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) Specialist Review Panel.
