The aim of the project is to better understand climate, fire and ecological change in this vast remote region over the last 12,000 years. The project is being funded by a grant to Basil Davis from the Swiss Polar Institute, and involves collaboration with Antoine Guisan and Jackie Pena from IDYST, Edward Mitchell from the University of Neuchatel, Willy Tinner from the University of Bern, and Elena Novenko and Yuri Mazei from Moscow Lomosov State University.
