Andreas R. Ziegler (Professor of International Law at the Law School of the University of Lausanne) has been appointed as a Law and Criminology Fellow of the VUB (Free University of Brussels).
He is one of the 22 new fellows of the VUB appointed in June 2019 for a period of three years.
“VUB Fellow” is a title bestowed upon unique personalities such as top-level company executive officers or company staff members, visionary politicians or decision makers, and leading figures of civil society organisations. The Fellowship is the highest grade of membership for our Alma Mater.
Through the exchange of knowledge and insights, Law and Criminology Fellows will enrich our teaching and stimulate our research. Their commitment and achievements will inspire our students and encourage them to keep improving their knowledge and skills not only to their own benefit, but also to the advantage of society and future generations.
By granting the membership of the faculty to these lawyers and criminologists, the university and faculty honour their widely recognised careers, their contributions to their fields of law and criminology, their involvement in our departments and their role as ambassadors of our faculty. The faculty acknowledges all its fellows supporting its education programmes and research projects and helping the faculty to strengthen its contribution to society in an active way.
