Graduation ceremonies 2018: magic moments
The long-awaited graduation ceremonies for Bachelor’s and Master’s students at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne took place on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 December 2018. A look back at these unmissable events, which will remain engraved on the memory of everyone involved.
A memorable, symbolic experience for our graduates
The two ceremonies are key events in HEC Lausanne’s academic calendar and are particularly important for the Dean’s Office. Graduation ceremonies carry a particular symbolism for graduates of HEC Lausanne, who wear the traditional academic dress of gown and mortar board for the occasion.
This year’s ceremonies featured a number of musical interludes by the band Bad Salmon. One of the band members is a student at HEC Lausanne, while two others are from the Faculty of Arts, reflecting the collegiate spirit on campus. The Bachelor’s graduation ceremony also featured a video looking back at the years spent studying at HEC Lausanne – produced by Diego Conejo, one of this year’s graduates – and a flash mob.
Some of the highlights of each evening will remain engraved on the memory of everyone who took part: the festive atmosphere, throwing up the mortar boards, the conviviality of the drinks reception and the photo studio installed specially for the event.
A collective commitment to celebrating our graduates
Some 344 Bachelor’s and 518 Master’s students were awarded their degrees during the two ceremonies. Organizing the two events involved around 100 people each evening, including the program itself, communications and the technical and logistical aspects. Professors, members of administrative and technical staff and students were all involved and their support and commitment were greatly appreciated. The School thanks everyone for their involvement and congratulates all its graduates!
