A study of Wetlands International and BirdLife International in collaboration with the Universities of Kassel, McGill, Lausanne and Wisconsin shows that many High Arctic breeding waders and African waterbirds are predicted to suffer more from the impacts of climate change than the European ones. Therefore it is essential that their freshwater habitats are safeguarded and managed as climate buffer as much as possible.
