Paul André, Professor at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne, was nominated to the Management Committee of the EAA (European Accounting Association). He had already been involved in the EAA from 2014 to 2017 as chief editor of one of its academic journals, Accounting in Europe. The school congratulates him for this nomination.
Prof. André was nominated to the Management Committee of the EAA for his proactive contributions to the association. This Committee is responsible for the daily management of the association and for the development of its long-term strategy. As member of the Board of Directors, Prof. Paul André is now working on increasing membership and preparing the annual prizes that will be awarded for contributions to academic research and teaching, as well as on electing the best article from the association's journals. He states: "This nomination will enable me to pursue my involvement in the association, which in my view contributes in a very positive way to the academic community of accounting, control and auditing researchers."
The EAA includes more than 2,600 members from all over the world. Its objective is to connect the Europe-wide community of accounting scholars and researchers, to provide a platform for the wider dissemination of European accounting research, and to foster and improve research in order to ensure the development and the promotion of accounting as well as the improvement of teaching skills. The association also aims to develop relations with other professional and research accounting associations as well as with European and international committees and authorities involved in political decision-making in the field.
