Pierre-Marie Glauser, Professor at HEC Lausanne (UNIL), has been appointed a member of the Committee of the CVCI (Vaud Chamber of Commerce and Industry). He was already a member of the CVCI’s strategy board and was asked to join the committee during the latest round of appointments to its various bodies. The School congratulates him on his appointment.
Professor Glauser was asked to join the committee for his legal and tax knowledge – both theoretical and practical – as well as his understanding of the economic fabric of Switzerland and Vaud Canton, and his network of contacts in the Swiss economic and political landscape. He is also a member of the consultative body on VAT at the Federal Council, where he represents academic environments.
Prof. Glauser was officially appointed at the CVCI’s general meeting on April 18, 2018. As a member of the CVCI’s committee and strategy board, he is keen to develop closer links between HEC Lausanne and the CVCI, which is the largest chamber of commerce in Switzerland, as well as its various member businesses.
He will also provide expertise on taxation, which is a particularly important topic for the CVCI and its members. He explains that for him, “it’s an opportunity to offer a more academic perspective on current fiscal issues to an organization that aims to promote a positive fiscal framework for businesses operating in our country.”
The CVCI brings together over 3,200 businesses, representing almost 130,000 jobs in the canton and is a member of Economiesuisse. Its aim is to develop the economy and businesses in Vaud, protect and promote the most favorable framework conditions for its member businesses and provide them with high-quality, innovative services. The committee is the CVCI’s executive body which, along with the strategy board, defines and implements important policy positions and represents the interests of the chamber’s member businesses.
