univie: summer school - Centre for Translation Studies, University of Vienna
The second international summer school on Translation History in Vienna will specifically focus on questions of methods in Translation History and their relationship to translation theory. We have invited renowned guest lecturers who represent a variety of methodological approaches and will share their knowledge about the usage of specific methods in interactive lectures to help advance the participants’ PhD-projects. The methodological issues to be discussed include the relevance and role of case studies, oral history in Interpreting Studies, and source critique. Also, the Viennese team will present their own specific approach to translation history. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in detailed and extensive discussions about their individual projects and present the methodological challenges they are facing.
Invited speakers include:
Dilek Dizdar (University of Mainz/ Germersheim)
Carsten Sinner (University of Leipzig)
Michaela Wolf (University of Graz)
Christopher Rundle (University of Bologna)
