The fifth edition of the Business Game created by Junior Entreprise HEC Lausanne, a students’ association attached to HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne, was a resounding success. The event took place on campus on Friday April 20, 2018 and brought together some 160 participants, who said they particularly enjoyed the interesting case study they were asked to analyze. Similarly, the partner businesses really appreciated the different teams’ high level of motivation and the excellent quality of the event’s organization by the association.
The 2018 game was unusual insofar as Junior Entreprise HEC Lausanne doubled the number of case studies and participants compared with last year, while keeping the event completely free of charge for students. Overall, the Business Game involved 18 members of the association and secured support from around 20 sponsors, four partners for the case studies and the HEC Lausanne’s Career Center for the CV checks that took place throughout the day.
Most of the participants were students from HEC Lausanne, with the remainder from the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), Business School Lausanne, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), ETH (Zurich) and the University of St. Gallen.
The students worked in teams of four, on one of the 10 case studies put forward by the partner businesses.
The majority said they were satisfied with the case they analyzed, finding it interesting and suitable for their level of knowledge, even though they often found it challenging.
Our warmest congratulations to the organizers on a successful event and here’s to next year for the 2019 Business Game!
