Professor John Antonakis from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne has been appointed a member of the Society for Organizational Behavior (SOB), one of the most selective bodies in the field. Membership is limited to around 50 individuals, with only a handful of new members chosen each year. John Antonakis is one of the three selected in 2017.
Founded in 1976, the SOB’s mission is to put the best researchers in the field of organizational behavior in touch with each other and give them the chance to interact at meetings organised throughout the year. Intended as a real space for “thinkers” in organizational behavior, these meetings are not only an opportunity to share views on the latest research in the field, but also to develop new ideas that will change how it is applied in practice.
John Antonakis, who was appointed for his expertise, actions and reputation in the field, comments, “The SOB is a highly selective organisation. I am very honoured and delighted about the visibility this appointment offers, both for the department and faculty, and at a personal level.”
John Antonakis is a well-known figure in high-level academic journals, the media and on various editorial boards; in 2016, he was also promoted to fellowship of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Association of Psychological Science.
