The students of the Pharmacology & Toxicology track (Master in Medical Biology) had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Merck in Corsier-sur-Vevey, on Thursday, May 19.
Such visits are part of the study program of this track. During the visit, the students were presented an introduction to the history of Merck (the oldest Pharma company in the world, founded in 1668 in Darmstadt, Germany), and specifically of local facility, which was until recently called Merck-Serono. They had the opportunity to discuss career possibilities, and met also people that were trained at UNIL. Then they visited the impressive production facilities of Merck and made a tour through the R&D department. This visit was considered as very useful by the students of the Pharmacology & Toxicology track.
